1000 Free Hilton Points
Up until now, Hilton accounts have utilized a PIN for logging in. On April 1, 2015 they’ll be changing over to a password system for logging in, since numeric PINs aren’t nearly as secure as alphanumeric passwords. To encourage members to update their accounts and improve security, if you set or update your account password between now and March 25, 2015, you’ll get a completely free 1000 point bonus.
To put that amount in perspective, the first tier/category of Hilton properties require 5000 points per night (mostly Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn properties). So 1000 points isn’t a huge amount, it’s 1/5 of a free night at a Category 1 Hotel, and free points are free points! It takes just a minute to update your password:
- Log into your Hilton account
- On the left menu, click Personal Information under the My Profile Section
- Click Change Password and enter a new password of at least 8 characters with at least 1 capital letter
It’s as simple as that to score some free Hilton Points!
2,500 Free Delta Miles
Delta has quietly launched a new 20-minute checked baggage guarantee. If you check a bag and it takes more than 20 minutes for it to arrive at baggage claim, they’ll give you 2,500 free SkyMiles.
If your checked bag takes more than 20 minutes to arrive, you unfortunately do have to go online and fill out a form to request the miles, but the form is pretty easy.
As of now, they’re only offering this guarantee through March 31, 2015, so it seems to be a bit of a trial program to test how it works. But if you’re flying Delta anytime in the next month and your bag takes more than 20 minutes to arrive, make sure to fill out the form and get your free miles!
