A few weeks ago, I posted that Hilton was running a promotion where you could earn 1,000 free Hilton points<\/a>, just by changing your password to encourage users to maintain a more secure account.  Not long after the promotion was supposed to start, Hilton realized that they had a technical glitch, and that they weren’t actually ready to start the promotion yet.  They reached out to me and explained the situation, promising to provide an update when they had sorted out the technical problems.<\/p>\n

As promised, they did reach out to me to provide an update – they’ve now fixed their back end systems, so the promotion is now really live.  Unfortunately, I’ve been traveling a fair amount recently and haven’t had a chance to post this update, so the timeline is a bit tight – to receive your 1,000 point bonus, you’ll need to update your password by tomorrow, March 25.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It only takes a minute, so jump on the Hilton website, and complete these simple steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Log into your Hilton account<\/li>\n
  2. On the left menu, click Personal Information under the My Profile Section<\/li>\n
  3. Click Change Password and enter a new password of at least 8 characters with at least 1 capital letter<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After performing the steps above, you should see 1,000 free Hilton points post to your account within a few weeks.  1,000 points is 20% of the way to a free night at a Category 1 Hilton property (Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, etc) so it’s a no-brainer to grab some free Hilton points!<\/p>\n\n
